The Observer No. II

$175.00

The Story of “The Observer” Series

Each morning I go out on a walk on our land. Each morning, a few moments into my walk, I step into the field at the edge of the forest and the first thing I do is look up at the sky.

Often I’m looking at cloud formations, admiring the shade of blue and how it changes depending on where the sun is, but over the past few months I’ve found myself more and more often, looking for birds.

Among one of my favorite visitors is the Turkey Vulture. I have found myself absolutely mesmerized by the way one will circle and swoop and glide on the wind, catching currents as she scans the land below. A great observer, soaring high above the world I know down here on earth.

It’s her way I wish to take as my own. A higher perspective. I wish to be an observer. I wish to fly up, up, up to the heavens, and to watch from the wind, to circle and swoop and play on the air. To find greater space for everything I can see and know there is always a bigger picture to witness and to hold.

This series consists of four different pieces that can be purchased together or separately. Each one captures a different picture of a Turkey Vulture in flight against an ever-changing blue sky. Each carries her own movement, a soar, a flap, a swoop — a perspective all her own.
