I started this piece in November of 2023, dreaming of piles on piles of snow in the months to come. It was based off a photo I took during a snowshoe trek the previous year, the sky heavy with a looming snowstorm. I finished the piece halfway and ended up putting it away until February of 2024 when I rediscovered it in a pile of paper. By now, we had experienced a nearly completely snowless winter and I was aching for a fresh snowfall to cover the brown, frozen ground. I finally found the inspiration I needed to finish the piece I lovingly titled, The Winter I Wanted.
Original watercolor on 100% pure cotton, 140 lb professional grade paper, signed by the artist in the bottom right corner. This piece is double-matted with 100% cotton rag core matboard and set in a hand-stained and varnished, authentic wood frame, behind glass and includes d-hooks and picture wire hand-installed by the artist so your artwork is ready to hang up in your space.
