The Winter I Wanted
I started this piece in November of 2023, dreaming of piles on piles of snow in the months to come. It was based off a photo I took during a snowshoe trek the previous year, the sky heavy with a looming snowstorm. I finished the piece halfway and ended up putting it away until February of 2024 when I rediscovered it in a pile of paper. By now, we had experienced a nearly completely snowless winter and I was aching for a fresh snowfall to cover the brown, frozen ground. I finally found the inspiration I needed to finish the piece I lovingly titled, The Winter I Wanted.
This is an original watercolor painting on 100% pure cotton, 140 lb professional grade paper. The piece is signed by the artist on the bottom, right corner, and titled and dated on the back.
This piece is matted with 100% cotton rag core matboard and set in a hand-stained and varnished, authentic wood frame, behind glass and includes d-hooks and picture wire hand-installed by the artist so your artwork is ready to hang up in your space.
