I do a lot of reaching in the winter, outside the white. This particular March, I just couldn’t bear to paint any more snow. It was feeling too heavy, too suffocative. I escaped it by painting the earth, alive. A late summer field, the sun finding its way through indigo clouds, warm air on my skin that feels like an embrace.
